Our team made huge progress at the last meeting! Now everyone is very clear on the tasks they will do in the following week.
In this project, I will be the project manager, level designer, co-system designer, environment&VFX artist, 2D artist, and programmer (for UI & low-level puzzles). The other three teammates will work hard on system design & programming (Yes, I think programming will kill a lot of time. It depends on the complexity of the level puzzle). I'm super thrilled about developing this game! This game is based on Aztec mythology and Chat GPT-4. Mainly we develop the game on UE5. We decide to develop a first-person horror puzzle game, which has similar vibes as <Scorn> and <The Dark Pictures: House of Ashes> (If you really want us to provide some game references to get a sense of the game, we find these games may have similarity with our game).
The game is still under development, so I will keep some information top secret! But when we push the game further, I will definitely show you guys some of our game development processes and ideas.
So far, we decide to have 2 levels in the game (the gameplay design is pretty linear):
- Level1: will have 3 sections.
- Section1--introductory space
- Section2--puzzle 1
- Section3--puzzle 2
- Level2: will have 2 sections.
- Section4--puzzle 3
- Section5--puzzle 4
- End
In each puzzle room, we want to design puzzles related to Aztec mythology. While solving the puzzles, players will have a better understanding of Aztec history, which is also part of our goal at the beginning of the game brainstorming. Currently, we already have all puzzles designed at level 1. And we are programming them this week. Hopefully, this all can work out!
